Pressure Helps

Pressure Gauge

Sometimes we need pressure to get us going on something. Pressures are only meant for us to get us started, to maintain the work and to complete the work. Deadlines can evoke pressure. But too much pressures or having constant pressure isn’t good for the body or the mind for that matter. But pressure has its useful function as long as it’s done right. As we have all experienced, that after we have completed something, the feeling of pressure decreases. If we feel we’re not working on something that we should be working on, then it is time for us to create pressure of some kind to move things forward in a positive way.

Finding Your Labor Of Love

Bowl of Fruit

Post Written By Eugene Morgan

We won’t know what we can do, if we don’t try. How can we find what we’re good at, if we don’t try? Some of us won’t try because we have a fear of the unknown. Fear can be use as an excuse for not knowing what we’re capable of doing. Even when we have the potential or the genes for it, we still need to work on it, to develop it and to mold it. If we were to ask ourselves what things that are holding us back, it would be commitment, time and labor; these are the ingredients for success if we want to make things happen. If we are willing to make the sacrifice and put in the effort, then the possibility is greater to see the fruit of our labor.

Drive Through Success

Drive-Thru Tree

Where can we find the drive to make things happen in our lives? Sometimes we need the urge to move forward to get things done.

Some of us need a deadline to get us to complete a project while others just need encouragement.  Some of us love to be challenged to move forward while others would rather compete.

Drive is what makes a successful person. But along with drive we need a clear purpose and direction. We don’t want to waste our drive because drive without purpose means a burnout.

Our interests and motivation equals our drive to make things happen. That’s what make a successful person look forward to getting up in the morning to do what they love doing.

Be Resilient like Children

Kids are resilient when it comes to recovery from a major injury. Although children may have a cast on from a fractured ankle or a broken arm, they ignore or forget this fact, and continue on painting, drawing, and running around in the yard.

A fractured angle or a broken arm doesn’t stop them from doing some or more what they did before the injury. They find a way to participate with their peers.

They get around their limitations. They know they can push the injury so far, and they respect that.  As adults, we can learn how children are resilient when it comes to going beyond their limits.  We defined not by our limitations, but by the way we deal with our limitations.

Doing the Hard Things First

Whenever we want to tackle a project, it’s better to do the hard part first. Even when the hard part of project takes longer to complete, because by the time we complete it, the rest will come easier.

One thing is true about starting the difficult part first is that we learn something about it.  That learning may help us complete the rest of the task.

We don’t even have to complete the difficult part of a project so long as we start and work on it for certain amount of time.

This gives us a psychological effect on how we complete the rest.  The rest of the project will seem doable then if we started with what we think is easier.

Keep At It

Keep at it when we see no end in sight.  Keep at it when everything so far has failed. Keep at it when no one but us believes in what we’re doing. Keep at it when we don’t see any reason to continue.

Keep at it when it’s raining. Keep at it when it’s snowing. Keep at it when we have a good reason to stop. Keep at it, especially, when we’re in self-doubt.

Keep at it when we want to find excuses to stop. Keep at it when it seems so impossible to do. Keep at it after we have completed the task.

Keep at it when we feel tired. Keep at it when distraction is plaguing our concentration. Persistence is one of the elements of succeeding so keep it at.
