Struggle and Strength

Struggle

Post Written By Eugene Morgan

The struggle you’re in today is developing the strength you need for tomorrow. Don’t give up. — Robert Tew

To struggle doesn’t mean we’re weak. To struggle means, we’re pushing forward in spite of the difficulty at the moment. It is not always easy to focus when there are distractions. It is not easy to push forward when we don’t feel like doing it. It is not easy to take another step when we have doubting thoughts swirling inside our heads. It is not easy when there is not enough time to put in the effort. It is especially not easy to strive for better when there are others not supportive and doubting us. However, we must not give up and given to our weaknesses but build on the strengths and courage that we acquired over the years.

Waves Of Life

Waves

You can’t stop the waves, but you can learn to surf. — Jon Kabat-Zinn

Life is not alway easy. We all struggle through the waves of life. We have to accept the waves of life. Accepting the waves of life helps us to get through life’s challenges. And during our struggle we learn how to cope with new skills, we learn skills to ride the waves.  We can help each other and support each other through the difficulties of life. We don’t have to go through life alone since we struggle with the same kinds of things.

The True Magic Carpet

Imagination

Post Written By Eugene Morgan

Imagination is the true magic carpet. — Norman Vincent Peale

What we imagine can be possible. Imagination stimulates the mind into thinking of the possibility of making something happen. What was untouchable has become touchable, and that’s magic. When something is touchable, it becomes easily manageable. We can see what was once was in our mind’s eye we can now touch with our hand. If we just look at things around us, we will see what was once imagined (ideas) have now been made of things. It is by our nature to think up something and then make it real. There is no room for doubt, when we’re our minds is full of imagination.

Quality is a Habit

Quality is not an act, it is a habit. — Aristotle

A habit is acquired experiences. It takes time to develop. An act is unreal and not genuine because it pretends to do something temporarily enough for show. It’s like hiding from someone under water while holding your breath long enough for the person to give up to look elsewhere.  Quality is lasting because it takes time and patience to fine-tune things to make better. Most of us like quality things and we’re willing to pay more for them than something with poor quality. We know somebody carefully put in a lot of time, effort and care to produce quality into something we find most valuable.

Today’s Moments

Post Written By Eugene Morgan

Don’t let yesterday use up too much of today. — Cherokee Proverb

The above quote is a good description on how we spend too much of our time in the past while taking our time away from our present. There is nothing left in our present when we spend our time in the past. Let us not lose any more time in the past. Instead, start enjoying our present where we have more control on how we want to live our lives rather than trying to change what was. Today we celebrate by living our lives now. It is more meaningful to live in the moment than to live vicariously in the past. Our past is just a projection of our memories. Today we create happier memories for tomorrow.

Made Up of Small Deeds

Post Written By Eugene Morgan

Great acts are made up of small deeds. — Lao Tzu

We always want to get involved with the best part of a project. However, there will be times that we will have to do mundane parts of the project. In fact, there is usually the mundane or the small deeds that will help complete everything. We ought not to underestimate the little things we have to do because this stuff is the foundation of everything we do. Besides, it is much easier to manage the little things. Completing small tasks are always a good reinforcer to encourage us to do more.

Beyond What’s Possible

The limits of the possible can only be defined by going beyond them into the impossible. — Arthur C. Clarke

It makes us wonder when we see what’s possible. After we see what’s possible, it makes wonder what’s beyond the possibility. But first, we must entertain the fact what’s possible and then have the courage to leap into the unknown that seems to be the impossible. What appears to be impossible is only a measure of what we don’t know yet. We have to learn, experience and be open to new ideas for us to get a glimpse of what is beyond the possible and into the impossible.

Set A Peace of Mind

Post Written By Eugene Morgan

Set peace of mind as your highest goal, and organize your life around it. — Brian Tracy

We all want peace in our lives. Sometimes we need to withdraw from our busy lives and to sit back and relax. When we slow down, our minds will slow down as well. It is nice to unwind. It is good for us to do so from time to time. We need to retreat when we’re a little off centered. It is a time to center ourselves so we can be at our best when we do return to the fast pace world.  We can come back happier and recharged to take on the days. We return with a clear mind and we can see now our path or decisions we have that can make a difference in life.

A Year From Now

A year from now you may wish you had started today. — Karen Lamb

Whatever we’re dreaming about doing, start it today, because it may take a year or more to see progress. We will experience ups and downs in our journey for success. It’s not going to be easy. We will want to give up. We will make excuses not to continue. But a year or two from now we will look back to see that we’ve made progress and things are starting to fall into place. We’re beginning to see that our hard work is paying off. We’re that much closer to fulfilling our dreams.

Turn Out The Best

Things turn out best for the people who make the best of the way things turn out. — John Wooden

When we make the best of the way things turn out, we’re seizing on the opportunity to do our best. Others usually take notice when we make an earnest effort and turn, for example, a disaster or unplanned event into something the can bring positive vibes into the situation. Things won’t always go as plan, and it is better to expect the unexpected and deal with the situation accordingly instead of getting upset. We can always figure out something or accept the reality that we can’t completely fulfill our expectations.

To Be Happy, Be!

If you want to be happy, be.  — Leo Tolstoy

Happiness is a state of being. Happiness is one of the states that everyone experiences. Joy is fulfilling a need or desire or want. Happiness is being centered in our lives. Joy is going through the moment. Happiness is accepting reality instead of a distorted the picture. Happiness is discovering something we didn’t know before or completing a goal we set for ourselves. Happiness is enjoying the freedom and allowing ourselves room to grow without rushing things.

Goals and Accomplishments

Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment. — Jim Rohn

If we want to accomplish something, then we most walk across the bridge. Discipline is the way to go to make our dreams a reality. It will be an uphill battle to get what we want in life, but in the end, we will be a different person. We get our self-worth in what we do and accomplish in life. Discipline keeps us on track to make sure we have an opportunity to make that happened. Emotions will not get us there. We have to decide what we want and just do it without hesitation because if we hesitate our mind will feed into self-doubt. The best approach in fulfilling our accomplishments is through discipline.

Welcome Change As The Rule

Spider's web

Post Written By Eugene Morgan

You must welcome change as the rule but not your ruler. —Denis Waitley

In other words, allow change to be an opportunity for growth and not allow change to dominate our lives. Change is inevitable. We just have to respect and accept change as it occurs without trying to fight it. When we’re at a certain level or if we go through life’s transitions we have to adapt to new changes. Change disrupts our comfort zones.

For example, a spider has to find a secluded area where a flying insect will happen to go. After a spider spins the web and it is set up, then the spider has to wait patiently for a catch. Sometimes the web is never damaged or swept away by a broom in a spider’s lifetime and other times a spider isn’t so lucky when its web is constantly gets destroyed, but the spider would have to spin another web because it’s life depends on it. We have to adapt for us to keep up but not be ruled by change

Accepting Our Limits and Beyond

Grand Canyon-Parashant NM

Post Written By Eugene Morgan Once we accept our limits, we go beyond them. — Albert Einstein

Accepting our limitations mean to stop struggling or stop resisting the opposing forces while we wait and see what will come along. We go beyond our limitations because we’re no longer bound by them. We have developed a new understanding that we can somehow transcend our limitations by switching the way we think and do things instead of thinking and doing the same things hoping for a different outcome. Accepting our limitations helps us to reserve our energy and refocus that energy into something more constructive that will help us move beyond our limitations.

There are three solutions to every problem: accept it, change it, or leave it. — Unknown

Accepting that we can’t change a thing about a person is one of the hardest thing to understand. We want to hold on to our fantasy that the other person will change some day. Instead we can refocus our attention on ourselves to change. We can do something about how we see things. And at the end, we have power to leave that problem alone and be free from it

The Moments In Peace

Bmxset

Post Written By Eugene Morgan

It is nice to go home and rest and take it easy. It is also nice to go out and do physical activities. Exercise does a body good. It is simpler to live in our head and forget about the rest of our body. We’re designed to move around and be active. It makes us feel alive when we’re outside creating our experiences.  Experiences we will learn and hopefully remember.  Past experiences become meaningful to us because we’re sharing our experiences we had together with friends and family. It’s what touches us the most are those kinds of experiences.  It is nice to feel the warm sun on our faces, and the wind is blowing through our hair. We’re living in this moment today. They’re the moments we’re the most peaceful in minds and hearts.

Drawing the Right People

When the wrong people leave your life, the right things start to happen.— Zig Ziglar

It is no accident that two people come together. We all pick the person or persons that are relatable. We all have set criteria on what we want in a friendship or a serious relationship that may lead marriage. If we’re drawn to the wrong people, it tells us something about ourselves. We’re picking our friends and relations by the weakest part of ourselves. It is until we’re working on ourselves and make some changes, we will continue to be drawn to the wrong people. It takes maturing and hard work for us to be drawn to right people in our lives.

A Balance of Sadness and Happiness

The word ‘happiness’ would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness. — Carl Jung

We need to express both happiness and sadness. These emotions help us express how we feel at that moment in time. We have a range of emotions that we express daily. We ought not to be in a state of one emotion all the time. We need to allow ourselves to express all emotions. Feeling and expressing our emotions is natural. We get into trouble when we don’t feel our feelings when it is necessary especially expressing the negative ones. Feeling is a product of what thoughts we’re saying to ourselves and what constitutes sadness and happiness to us. What is important to us is where we feel very strongly towards.

Past Make Us Better

Visions

Post Written By Eugene Morgan

Let the past make you better, not bitter. — Unknown

The past will always be behind us. We can always learn from our past. We have a choice to be bitter or to be better. We have no control over the past because we’ve already lived our yesterdays. If we lived through unpleasant events in our past, then we’re a lot stronger than before. We ought to continue to learn from our past because it makes us better instead of attempting to change our past. We can alway look at the positive aspects of our past life and live today.

Vision in Sight

....through the valley of darkness..

Post Written By Eugene Morgan

The only thing worse than being blind is having sight but no vision. — Helen Keller

A vision is linked with having a purpose in our life. A vision is a glimpse into the future of how we want our life to be. We have to start now to make changes that will alter into something different in our future. Since tomorrow starts with our future, we’re better off starting today because when tomorrow comes we begin to see how things are changing in our lives. It starts with us to let our minds open so we can see clearly our vision we set before us. Today we plant seeds, water the soil for a time before we see satisfying results.
