When Lightning Does The Work

Thunder is good, thunder is impressive; but it is lightning that does the work. —Mark Twain

Thunder is like having good intentions. We only talk about what we want to do instead of doing it. It’s easier to talk about it than it is doing it. Obsessing over an idea can give us a feeling of exhilaration because we want to re-experience the first initial experience again when we first came up with a new idea. When we start putting our thoughts into fruition, we quickly realized how difficult this is, as we begin to lose the exhilarating experience and then we want to quit. Feeling great or happy about an idea is only temporary. It becomes more important and meaningful to us when we push and struggle through making an idea happen. And meaning will always be long lasting, not the initial high we get when we first come up with an idea.
