Making A Big Thing Out Of Nothing

Frolic, Damn You! 2

Post Written By Eugene Morgan

Sometimes we can make a problem bigger than it really is. When we do make the problem so big, then our stress level goes up.  When we get stressful, we aren’t as effective as we can be in solving the problem because with stress our minds are unclear. And under stress we become impatient and too quick to anger as a result we blame the world for everything that goes wrong. When we do get to this point, we need to sit back and relax and get back to the problem later. When our mind clears up we’re able to think better and the solution will come to us.

It’s Okay To Push Yourself, A Little

It’s okay to push ourselves a little to get the ball rolling. It’s okay to put a little pressure on ourselves when we want to meet a deadline. However, we don’t want to keep the pressure on us for hours on end, we do need to take breaks during this process so we can be most effective in completing the task we want done. Sometimes we do need a push to start a project for sure when we’re procrastinating. And putting on a little pressure on ourselves can help us to determine what our limitation are as well as our strengths. Sometimes, we assume some things we think we can’t do without trying it first. Even trying it once doesn’t really mean anything unless we keep at it until there is progress made.

In Good Time

Fly [37/365]
Post Written By Eugene Morgan

Things will happen in good time. We want things to happen quickly, especially when we see others excelling in their projects. We all have a time and a place when things do start to happen in our lives. We just have to be patient and let things unfold without trying to get there quickly. These things have a way of changing our lives so it’s okay to continue working behind the scene until we grow into a point that we can expand our wings and fly.  In the meantime, this is time for growth, practice and working on things until we’re confident in showing our work to the world.

When Criticism Is Constructive

empowered

Post Written By Eugene Morgan

Sometimes we react too quickly when there is a criticism made by someone because of what we did or didn’t do. Our response is like a knee-jerk reaction because our unconscious mind wants to protect our ego. We don’t like criticism because it hurts and we feel a sense of shame and embarrassment. Instead of hurting about it, we can use the hurt and seize the opportunity to improve ourselves. We can turn the criticism into something constructive that can be more helpful to ourselves and to others. When we seize the opportunity to improve ourselves then we are empowered and we feel empowered.

Build A Foundation, First

Building the walls
Post Written By Eugene Morgan

Building a solid foundation is about doing our research before we start doing something new. It is easy to jump into something without knowing much about it. Researching it will help us decide how much time we will need to spend on it. There is also a learning curve. All of us have different speeds of learning. Some of us learn quicker than others while some of us take our time to learn the material. But for the learning to stick in our heads, we must start to execute the steps that are needed to complete whatever it is we want to do.

Stay On the Difficult Road

Learning to Walk

Post Written By Eugene Morgan

For us to get ahead it will always require of us great labor. It is never easy to stay on a difficult and long road. But if we stay on the road long enough, we will discover some interesting things about our surroundings and about ourselves. These are the experiences that make life interesting and meaningful. And learning is the vehicle that will take us to places that we have never been before. As long as we’re on this difficult road called life, we might as well learn something from it. Learning makes life fascinating. Learning keeps us focused and less distracted even when times are difficult and when there are constant changes in an uncertain future.

Plan, Then Follow It

Road to Uluru

Post Written By Eugene Morgan

Today is the day after the New Year. Now it is time to start working on a plan or continue working on a plan that we have already started.  It is time to focus on what things we plan to do this year to accomplish our goals. Planning out our goals keeps us on track. It is easy to become distracted if we don’t have a plan laid out for us. A plan is like a map that helps us find our way around from point A to point B.  We don’t have to follow the direction precisely; we need a plan just to give us a rough estimate on what we need to do to meet our goal.

A Beginning

Happy New Year!

Post Written By Eugene Morgan

Today is a new beginning. There are a lot of opportunities to be had. Today is the first day of 2013. Now what are we going to do today? Today is a time to celebrate 2013. The New Year day is like a rebirth or some sort of renewal.  All of the things we have learned in our previous years we can carry with us into the New Year. We can build on all the previous experiences to help us to prepare for the New Year. This is a new beginning and an opportunity to get stronger as we gain new experiences this year to help build character.

We Have 365 Days Of 2013

New Year's Fireworks

Post Written By Eugene Morgan

It is time to celebrate a new year, 2013. 2013 can be an amazing year or not depends on what we’re going to do with it. Setting realistic goals at the beginning of the year is a good start. What do we hope to do next year  is what we can ask ourselves? Goals can be anything from going on a trip or learning a new language to learning how to play a guitar. There are only 365 days in a year. In those 365 days we do many things. We have 365 days of opportunity to do the things we set our hearts and minds to do. We cannot worry about the uncertainties or the unexpected things that will occur. There are going to be some distractions along the way, which should be expected. There will definitely going to be some disappointments and some setbacks but those things are part of life not our whole life.  We learn and push forward to the next thing.

Time For Reflection

2012 Calendar

Post Written By Eugene Morgan

It is time for us to reflect back on what we have done and haven’t done. It is time to learn from our experiences we have added this year. Have we accomplished what we set out to do and are we satisfied for the work we have done this past year are some of the questions we can ask ourselves? What more can we do to make improvements next year? Did we try to do too many things but end up with unfinished projects? These are some of the questions we can asked ourselves so we can to help us to make better decisions and make improvement. What are we going to do differently that will help us along the way to do better next time? We also can reflect on our successes and the things that we have done.

Meeting A Goal Matters, Not The Speed

Works in Progress

Post Written By Eugene Morgan

Sometimes it seems like we aren’t getting anywhere with meeting our goals. When progress seems like its going snail pace, then we have to be patient with ourselves. As long as we’re moving towards meeting our goals, then we won’t need to rush progress. But spending the time necessary to meet our goals will matter. If we really want to make progress and complete our goals, then we must spend our time working toward completing our goals.  We can never get back our time that has been wasted over frivolous matters. Nonetheless, today is a gift we mustn’t take for granted but be thankful for another opportunity to make progress in our journey.

Shed Some Light

Post Written By Eugene Morgan

In our daily lives we run into some sort of problem that we must solve before we can go forward. At times, we can get frustrated when a solution doesn’t come to us. Getting frustrated with solving a problem will only delay the solution. Repeatedly using the same approach to solve the problem only yields more frustration especially when we’re expecting a different result. So we have to try solving the problem differently that will also help us to look at the problem in a different light. When we look at the problem differently we are forced to expand our scope of the problem so can see as many angles in solving the problem.

Celebrating With Family and Friends

Holidays 2010

Written By Eugene Morgan

Today is that day we celebrate. Meet up with some of our family members to celebrate by exchanging gifts, eating dinner and sampling all the desserts. This is the time where we can develop a meaningful experience with our family and friends. The virtue of giving is not about just gift giving, is also about gathering under a roof and experiencing the uniqueness and the company of one another.

Prioritize, Then Have A Peace Of Mind

Post Written By Eugene Morgan

Sometimes we have too many things on our plates. The majority of those things we have to do but it is impossible to do them simultaneously. Instead, we first have to prioritize from what is most important thing to what is least important thing. After we prioritize them, we can start completing what’s most important thing first, down to what is the least important thing. This approach will keep us from being overwhelmed with the amount of things we have to do. We don’t have to have these things clutter our minds. Instead, these things can be written down so we can see what specific thing we can do next. This will give us a peace of mind.

Forgetfulness and Values

Remember me
Post Written By Eugene Morgan

If our instincts are telling us that we forgot something, then we should pay attention and find out what it is that we have forgotten. When we know that we’re going to forget something then we should put what we think we’re going to forget to a place where we think it’s going to trigger a memory. What we think is important  is when we say to ourselves that we need to remember to do something in such and such time. We forget to do something, because it is no longer urgent, and our value has switched to something else that’s more important.  Depending on what we’re doing at the moment is all we’re focused on.   We remember things when there is a need for something to get done and we forget things when other needs we’re attending to is more important.

Being In The Moment

Make up your mind to rejoice in this paradise called life. ~ Lao Tzu

We all get busy doing things and forget to stop for moment and look around us. If we just take notice of things around us, we can appreciate life better. We need to experience a little longer the sun on our faces. We need to take a moment to smell the morning air. We need to take a moment and  listen to the sounds around us. We need to spend time thinking about nothing, but experience the sound of silence.  Life is a paradise if we allow our minds to rejoice in the moment because that’s all we have and be thankful when we’re given another day. When we’re given another day to rejoice, we have another opportunity to celebrate life.

Finish What You Started

Finish

Post Written By Eugene Morgan

The same energy we used to start something is the same energy we can use to finish something. Sometimes we think we need that extra burst of energy to finish something, but we just need to continue doing what we have done for us to complete it. Sometimes we find ourselves delaying finishing something because getting close to finishing it can create some trepidation. Our trepidation in finishing something stems from trying to make it perfect.  Some of us don’t like to feel exposed when our finish work is laying out there for an attack. That’s why it takes courage to let ourselves produce our best work and not worry about the imperfections.

Getting An Understanding?

Mother and Daughter

Post Written By Eugene Morgan

Are things meant for us to understand? If we get an understanding or answers about why a tragic event occurred, would we be satisfied with the answer? When something tragic happens we want to look externally for an understanding about why bad things happens to good people. But getting answers will not resolve the painful experience of someone who just lost a loved-one. It takes time for wounds to heal. Some wounds heal faster than others. Sometimes after many years have gone by a mother still holds on to the grief of a child, because that’s the only thing she has left.  No child should lose a parent and no parent should lose a child, but these things happen unfortunately.

Together We Mourn

ALONE#PARIS

Post Written By Eugene Morgan

No one should mourn a loss alone. Most of us have lost someone that’s dear to us some time in our lives. Even those who feel the most comfortable grieving alone will need connection. Just by saying ‘my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family,” can help a grieving person to reconnect. A death of a loved-one is about feeling the lost of connectivity. We are meant to connect and to stay connected with one another for to experience the wholeness of humanity.

Rewarding Ourselves With Balance

Running

Post Written By Eugene Morgan

When we work so hard all day, we should always reward ourselves. Resting, eating, walking and playing are the few things we can do to reward ourselves after working. This is about balancing our lives. We don’t want to burn out and we don’t want to get complacent either. If we find ourselves only thinking about work especially when we’re away from work, then it is time to let work go and spend our time doing something we enjoy. We ought not to deny ourselves the feeling of joy when it comes to rewarding ourselves. We deserve it since we worked so hard all day.
