When The Mind Is Opened

I would rather have a mind opened by wonder than one closed by belief. — Gerry Spence

Beliefs can constrain the mind at times. Wonder allows our mind to briefly let go of our beliefs to see beyond. Wonder creates within us new associations that can be reintegrated into our belief system. In fact, this new associations expands our belief system into another level of maturity and flexibility. We must adjust to the times. Our beliefs don’t have to be compromised for the sake of making new adjustments. We make new adjustments for the sake of not compromising our beliefs. However, some beliefs keep a mind closed and have no interest in other things. How can we make life interesting if we don’t wonder about curious things. Learning can also be entertaining if we allow ourselves to wonder freely without hesitation.
