We Earn Our Keep

Labour

God gives every bird its food, but He does not throw it into its nest. — J.G. Holland

In the same way, nothing is handed to us and nothing is free. We respect ourselves more when we earn our keep. When we’re tired at the end of the day from working, we can say that we made an earnest effort and we can be proud. Most importantly, when we take initiative instead of waiting for someone to ask us to do something, we can feel good about ourselves. If we think we’re worth more, then we must act like we’re worth more. If we think we’re less than then others will see us as less than. If we put our hearts into our work, others will take notice of the quality of our work and want to do business with us. So we should always present our best work because we will never know that someone may take notice.
