Create A Life Worth Living

“It was only a sunny smile, and little it cost in the giving, but like morning light it scattered the night and made the day worth living.” ― F. Scott Fitzgerald

Believe that life is worth living and your belief will help create the fact.  — William James

If we believe that life is worth living, then we look for things that will help us live a worthy life.  We will create a life worth living because we have self-worth. Somebody believes in us, and therefore, we believe in ourselves.  We have something to contribute that makes us worthy. No one is better than another person. It is hard for someone to have self-worth when they have lost everything, like there family, friends, house, etc. For us to still have these things, we can help those who have fallen if they want it. We can only guide and be a light to help them along the way to their own path.  Once upon a time, we needed help and was thankful that someone cared whether it was emotionally or physically.

Life As It Is

Day 30 Has Arrived

Post Written By Eugene Morgan

“Peace is the result of retraining your mind to process life as it is, rather than as you think it should be.”— Wayne Dyer

This is a very powerful quote because it tells us how our beliefs can shape the way we think of how things should be. It is better to see life as it is because whatever life throws at us is an opportunity for us to use our capabilities. Talking is a lot easier than doing something about our lives. Peace is about giving us the opportunity to do something about our lives than having constant chatter in our minds. We can have a peaceful mind while living a productive life as we accept life as it is. Accepting life as it is means learning to widen our minds so that we can have more choices. When we have more choices, we have more peace of mind because we no longer are hindered by a narrow belief that can cause a lot of noisy thoughts in the mind.

Breaking Free From Beliefs and Judgments

freedom ... !

Post Written By Eugene Morgan

“Taking responsibility for your beliefs and judgments gives you the power to change them.”— Byron Katie

If we claim ownership to our beliefs and judgments, then we have the opportunity and the power to change them.  We don’t have to feel powerless anymore when the opportunity to change is there. We just have to be willing to learn to enlarge our way of thinking. This doesn’t mean we have to compromise what matters to us. Our goal is to break free our minds to see beyond our beliefs and judgments. When our minds become free then we can be open to new ideas.  New ideas create new associations and new understanding about us.

We’re Stronger

The power of freedom

Post Written By Eugene Morgan

Sometimes we forget that we’re stronger than we think. We’re afraid to release that power from within.  We don’t have to misuse our power by obsessing over things we can’t control. Instead, we can discover for ourselves what we can do just by doing it. Action will take us a long way than just thinking about what we want to do next and we have the strength if we believe that we can do it. On some level we do believe we can do something special with our lives, if we concentrate on the work with fewer distractions.

Our Beliefs Are Meant To Be Tested

If we see a task as something unpleasant to do, then we will experience unpleasant feelings. When we start to experience unpleasant feelings about a task, then we would find a way to avoid doing it.  We sometimes get caught up in the feelings of unpleasantry of doing the task that we won’t even start or have difficulty starting. When we do this, we don’t give ourselves a chance to find out if we like or dislike doing it. The unpleasant feeling is base on a belief that something about the task is not worth putting in the time and effort. However, this generalization is false because the unpleasant feeling is not based on reality. That’s why it is all right to challenge our generalization to see if it is really true.

What’s Stopping You?

What ever we’re doing or not doing is all based on a belief system. It is no coincident that our actions are based on a belief system that we use everyday. We no longer think about what we need to do next because most of our actions are made unconsciously. But when we first learn something new our actions were made consciously and deliberately. We may now wonder why we struggle to obtain our goals or procrastinate at the last minute to start doing what we set out to do couple months earlier. In order words, what is stopping us from obtaining our goals? What are the beliefs that we’re saying to ourselves is somehow stopping us from doing what we want for our lives? These are questions that we ask ourselves.

Doubt and Beliefs

Which Came First, The Chicken or The Egg?
Post Written By Eugene Morgan

Just like the chicken or the egg, what came first— doubt or belief about what we can’t do? When we have doubts in our abilities we fuel the belief that we can’t do something. If we believe we can’t do this or that, then it becomes true. If we let doubt fill our minds, then there will be no room to see any possibility for achievement.  It is normal to have some doubts but too much of it is distracting. Doubt looks only at our limitations while courage looks only at opportunities to see beyond our limitations. In courage, we can do things in spite of our doubts; that’s what builds confidence. We don’t have to keep from doing something, when we don’t really know if we can. Why not we find out and are pleased either way.

Small Easy Tasks

Post Written By Eugene Morgan

Sometimes we get so frustrated with ourselves when we want to make a change but don’t follow through.  When it comes to change, following through is the hardest part because of the belief in our minds that we can’t do it or it’s too difficult or I’m too tired or I don’t have time. It is these beliefs are what stop us from going through with the change in our life. For change to happen certain tasks are require of us to do. If we break down the task in small easy tasks, then they can be a lot easier to carry out.

Don’t Give Up

Hopeless
Post Written By Eugene Morgan

Why do some of us give up on things before we even get started? Belief controls our behaviors. If we have the belief that we can’t do it, then our body will follow and demonstrate that in our behaviors. This belief can take on different forms such as avoidance , procrastination and doubt. As long as we avoid doing what it takes to succeed, then we are guaranteed to fail. As long as we push back our time, we won’t have any time left but regrets. As long as we doubt ourselves and abilities, then we won’t even try. We think that everything has to be perfect before we start. But mistakes are our feedback on what to do and what not to do. We don’t have to give up just because we made a mistake. We just have to make the mistake fast so we can move on.

Believe in the Possibilities

day 7: Possibilities
Post Written By Eugene Morgan

If we don’t believe in what’s possible, then we don’t have a clear picture in what’s possible. Knowing what’s possible is really looking back at our experiences. In our experiences, we can see that we have made accomplishes and have achieved successes.

Looking back at our experiences are our resources to help us to look into the future in what we could do that’s possible. This exercise is useful because when fears, doubts, and excuses are keeping us from doing what we want to do in our lives, we can always look at what we have done in our pasts that can helps us through them.

If we believe in the impossibility, then our minds are closed. A closed mind doesn’t consider or wonder what’s possible even when we see clearly what’s possible for someone else. We don’t want to believe it to be possible for ourselves because it seems so foreign to us.

If we imagine ourselves outside looking in only seeing the other person doing what’s possible, then it would feel foreign to us to consider doing it ourselves. But if we paint a picture of ourselves doing what we believe is possible, then we will have better grip on the new situation.

Sooner is better than Later

Gotta get organized

“I wish I had done it sooner.” It’s a very common response after doing something that we’ve been prolonging to do.

This tells us a lot about a belief. The main reason we prolong to do something because of what our beliefs or fears say to us.

In spite of our limited beliefs and fears, we still have a choice. The limited beliefs or fears never take away our choices. But the beliefs and fears just make it harder to choose.

Making excuses is another distraction that prolongs what we want to do or choose to do in our lives.

Once the decision is made, we can start working on what we wish to do in our lives. Then, we begin to experience freedom which we didn’t know we had.

We’re no longer prisoners of our fears and limiting beliefs. The realization hits us that we had the choice to do it all along.

When We Believe in Limited Beliefs

Shooting tethered.
Post Written By Eugene Morgan

When we live with limited beliefs, we rob ourselves of the opportunity to see how far we can go in our abilities. If we have a belief that says we can’t do a certain thing, then pursuing it is out of the question.

We have lost the choice to see and do what we want to do. If we have a belief that says we can’t do this or that because it’s too difficult, then we create a resistance to doing it.

However, we can always challenge our limited beliefs. Inner proof is more powerful than someone trying to persuade us that we can do it. We need to test our beliefs ourselves.

You Have The Power Within To Follow Your Own Path

Post Written By Eugene Morgan

Our internal resource is our power to move things in our lives; resources that we have acquired over our lives through our experiences.

As long as we’re learning new experiences, we’re accumulating our power. The problem for most of us is learning to get access to our resources to help us to succeed in life.

Our limited frames of reference, our biases and our limitations tend to get in the way. These are the challenges that we have to contend with thus freeing some of these things so we can use what we already have within.

We tend to give our power away when we don’t follow our own path in life.  The power within us can free us from our biases, only if we open our minds up for new ideas and follow our own path.

Breaking down Assumptions

O Mundo Mágico de Escher
Written By Eugene Morgan

Breaking down assumptions entails questioning our beliefs.  Sometimes we believe things without checking them out.  When we don’t check things out, we keep ourselves in the dark.  But when we do question our beliefs, liberation is upon us. We no longer have to settle for limited beliefs.  Learned beliefs are passed down from one generation to next without question. We are given the answers whether we like it or not.  And we’re not allowed to question what our parents told us.  But as adult we certainly can challenge old beliefs that are out of date in our lives.
